Artwork III
This is my first move away from potraits. Making this stuff is so different from potraits. One doesn't need to get the scaling(of the face) right, so it saves time with the pencil. Infact you can totally avoid using a pencil. But then, there is a lot of stuff to do with colours, so overall it takes almost the same time.
I'm going to continue with pastels for now. They are so much fun! I plan to mix up dry pastels with wet colours in my next paintings.

Awesome work da!! The shadows and the reflections have come out sooper! Especially the reflection of the fishing rod!! the way you made that is awesome!!
Keep up the good work!!
nice work dude .God level
Sherlock Holmes on a secret mission? Is the first pic supposed to depict that?
Lovely work bro!
The dark-man-out-in-the-light looks nice and rich.
Good work with the strokes on the other one to give a nice sunny feel and create beautiful reflections. However I have to ask you, in this one is the subject dark to reflect its insignificance or some other reason?
Aneesh u rocked again asusual and i guess this particular art work is tougher than previous ones....even then u succeeded completely ....The shadows, walls and every thing turned out great....awesome work :)
@ kaapiwrite, dopa
thanks
@ jimmy
Nah, He's a gen mysterious guy
@naman
thanks a ton :)
That guy is not subject, first of all. And, he is dark because we are viewing him from a direction opposite to that of the sun rays.
@ suma bala
thanks for the encouragement! you rock too :)
Impressive.
@ amrit
thank you
god !!! you never cease to amaze. specially that silhouette. it has come out perfect. Now thats called artwork.
Of course its the sun. But I meant to ask about the semantics behind the depiction of the person object, if there were any.
@ arun
thanks man!
@ naman
No, there were none. But I guess if that object would've been placed anywhere else, it wouldn't have looked that good.
By the way, I dont draw this by imagination. I always have a reference photo or picture. :)
Well, you have a long way to go. I believe every piece of art has a message to convey. The objects and the representation, apart from the obvious reasons, always have a meaning behind them, and that collectively is said by the painting.
After all every picture says something like a 1000 words, or so I am told :P
Once again, really good work bro. Keep me posted.
The first picture of the mystery man is really good. I think, you are building yourself a collection of very good drawings. Keep going.
nice work :) the shadows and the different shades of grey look great.. the walls make it look like a prison ;)
the second one is a bit simple actually.. going by ur standard..
@ naman
Yes. I have a long long way to go.
